WAXING TIPS
- At the end of the day of your appointment, be sure to wash your face thoroughly and gently to ensure clean pores.
- Be sure to exfoliate regularly, but be sure to start 2 full days after your threading appointment.
- Be sure to avoid any harsh or perfumed products around the threaded area for 24 hours after your appointment.
- Keep the area to be waxed clean and dry. Avoid using any creams, gels or oils that may prevent the wax from adhering to the skin.
- Take an aspirin/ibuprofen 30-45 mins prior to waxing to reduce pain.
- Take a warm shower prior to waxing. This will help open your pores & allow the hair follicles to come out easier.
- Exfoliate your skin regularly to rid skin of dead cells around skin pores and hair follicles to provide an easier exit..This will ensure you get a smooth wax and will also help prevent ingrown hairs. Note: Do not use if you have an allergy to Aspirin.
- Avoid heavy exercise, water related activities or sun tanning before & after waxing. This can also cause the skin to be extra sensitive to waxing.
- Avoid saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools and other heated sources for at least 48 hours.
- Women may experience extra sensitivity to waxing up to a week prior to the beginning of their menstruation.
- Do not use any exfoliating products such as AHA’s, scrubs, loofah’s or have any face treatments or peels for at least 24 hours following wax.
- Do not wax areas with broken skin, moles, skin tags, warts or cold sores.
- If you are susceptible to cold sores or fever blisters and take medication such as Valtrex for outbreaks, please take meds the day before, day of and day after any wax procedure.
